Virgin Atlantic provides access to full content through Amadeus

The airline's full range of content will be available, with no surcharge or opt-in, to travel agents using Amadeus

New Delhi, 07 October, 2009: Amadeus, a global leader in technology and distribution solutions for the travel and tourism industry, has signed a worldwide agreement with Virgin Atlantic to ensure travel agents have access to the airline's full range of content. This agreement will enable Amadeus' over 20,000 travel agents across India to information directly from the airline's inventory.

"Amadeus has always explored opportunities to deliver the best products and solutions to our partners and assist them in expanding their catalogue across service levels. We are proud to associate ourselves with Virgin Atlantic and use this opportunity in boosting the efficiency and services of our business partners," said Ankur Bhatia, Managing Director, Amadeus India.

The full range of Virgin Atlantic's fares, schedules and inventory made available through the Amadeus system will be the same, and offered under the same conditions, as that offered through any indirect or direct channel, distribution provider or website.

Speaking on the tie-up, Michael Burke, General Manager, Virgin Atlantic, India, said "We are delighted with this agreement and look forward to this association proving beneficial to our travel trade partners in India."

Amadeus has over 130 agreements which enable travel agents to access airlines' full inventory. This represents over 255 million bookings a year, or 70% of all airline bookings sold by Amadeus travel agencies worldwide.
